You are right on the minor touches that need some refurb.
The loungecarpets could use some sprucing up. But the sofas are still comfy.
I thought though they had started/finished all rooms/suites refurb and might now go tackle the rest of the hotel.

Pre-pandemic the suites had a Greek feel to it: beige with blue tones and ofcourse the Korres amenities.
They have modernised them and maybe that trend of design might find its way to a future refurb of the lounge.
Yes entirely agree and I have to say I rather like those suites right by the lounge with the balconies. Not state of the art but highly relaxing and comfortable.

Old CP (now Kimpton) in Amsterdam was the same .... if you looked one way, it was very dated ... colours, styles, materials. But the reality, very well maintained and comforting and a place you could enjoy to be in.

It's an odd science. The things we would ordinarily judge in the negative become a new equation that just works. Very hard to explain how and why, it just does.

We are looking do a drive down to Athens and then hopefully the islands. I've ordered one of these new EV's but not sure of the charging infrastructure past Austria. The target is IC Athens to be the travel staging post. But the territory south east of Austria / Hungry area is less well developed from what I can see. Not even sure IC Athens has any charging facilities at this time.
