Multiple sources I have seen say they commonly bite legs. Out of the 31 bites, I do also have 5 bites on one hand and 5 on my upper arm
I’m really sorry for what you have experienced, but my opinion, based on 20 years of wife-bitten by the sand flies, is that you are wrong.

Can you please tell us where have you been ? If not the hotel name, just the destination
