For the question in your final sentence, I would be doing a DuckDuckGo (or similar) search for bed bug prevention / removal tips rather than relying on the FlyerTalk (FT) Marriott Bonv°y Forum.

At the very least, somewhere in an FT Travel Forum? Bed bugs are not unique to Marriott.
