In my own effort to counter hyperbole, I don’t see anywhere in the OP’s OP that the
entire contents of OP’s bag were ruined. I can certainly envision a scenario where certain items in the bag might suffer damage from gastric acids or stains that would require either replacement or professional cleaning services. It appears to me that the baggage rep’s offer of “a few Lysol wipes” was woefully inadequate and inconsistent with company policy.
