Did you use a time machine? As stated upthread, since a couple of weeks ago the RC-Reserve properties are now points-earning participants in the Bonvoy program, so if you look now clearly you won't see a message about it not participating.
The point of contention is whether, at the time the OP booked, Ritz-Carlton Reserve Dorado's status as a non-earning property was or was not disclosed in the app and that is something that would be very hard to verify now.
