Totally agree if it was disclosed anywhere when we were booking, we would have no complaint but it wasn't. I did not originally name property because the property itself was lovely and did not want to give them a bad name. Our issue is with marriott bonvoy. The hotel was the ritz dorado. We would never have spent that much money, except our last several last trips got cancelled due to covid so we decided to "splurge", in part thinking points and elite nights credits would help towards a future trip. We actually had a booking at st regis in puerto rico first, but then saw the ritz in app and decided to go with that instead. There was absolutely nothing in app to indicate that we would not get any credit for ritz dorado. Strangely enough, after we had this issue we received an email that the ritz dorado reserve is now participating in program (starting a week after our stay)! I have a theory that maybe there used to be disclosure that this hotel did not participate but in anticipation of this change they took down this disclosure in the app too early (ie in the period when we booked this hotel last month).
