Lugging bags to E was mentioned a few times in the first paragraph... assuming you meant A since you arrived in E and had to go to A for connection.
As far as bus - I'd still consider that having to drag your bags around the airport. Still have to wait for the bus, get bags on and off, and drag up to A check in.
Very poor set up.
It’s an unacceptable setup. DL should have a bus to move the bags themselves.
BUT - the passenger terminal bus is a hell of a lot better than lugging 50+ lb bags (multiple?) in the summer heat, let alone all the steps etc.
