What was good and what was bad?
-Good- Bed is comfortable
- Still fresh looking and clean
- Concierge
- Bar is pretty nice
-Bad- They give you the bare mininum in terms of AMB recognition
- No welcome gift. Just the free water
- Staff in general seem moody or unhappy
- Windows are so filthy. I don't think they have been cleaned once since renovation
- The rooms have zero sound proofing. You hear the corridor/hallway loud and clear due to there being no seal when you close the door. There is a half inch gap by the floor, which is just idiotic. Windows are not well sealed either so noise is bad from Midtown. The worst part are the paper thin walls between rooms. You hear a normal conversation or TV next door through the walls. And if you are in a connecting room (which all execs and barclays are) it is even worse. I recorded a video of it to proove to front desk... they listened. They agreed. They apologised. I explained that this is such a basic fundamental thing in a hotel. You pay a premium to get a good nights sleep. They agreed, but nothing will happen as I've taken this up in the past.
