This is very helpful, as I have a similar problem. I am flying OAK-HOU roundtrip in July. both flights changed, and now I have to change planes in San Diego, with a 2 hour layover. My return flight is now in the evening instead of the afternoon, but it is now non-stop instead of a 1 stop. Southwest is giving me the choice of changing my return flight (which I don't want to do because it is now more convenient) but won't let me change the outgoing leg, which is now very problematic because I will likely have checked baggage that I don't want to stay in San Diego while we go on to Galveston to catch our cruise.
