That was my understanding too. I booked the ticket through Amex (online, not PTS), and asked the agent through the Amex chat app who insisted that I "cannot change the country from Mexico to US, because that is a change of currency and is not allowed", but that didn't make much sense to me.
OK, if I comes to me having to actually change my ticket while in Mexico I guess I'll call up PTS and hope to get someone who's more clued up. Thanks!
