Should the worst happen (read: COVID positive test while in Mexico), the easiest thing for us to do would be to abandon the trip to the US and spend more time in Mexico. Should that happen, would we be able to change our booking to return from MEX? The fare rule says AFTER DEPARTURE CHARGE GBP 300.00 FOR REISSUE/REVALIDATION, but I'm not sure if a change of country would be allowed.

Thanks!
Yes it is possible to change destination, you will pay fare and tax difference and the £300 change fee.

If your dates of travel are before 30 September this year the £300 change fee is waived.
