I have an open jaw ticket LHR-MEX/-JFK-LHR for the end of May with fare basis codes AKW4T1S4F/DIFP and ANN5C1S4F/DIFP. The ticket was purchased about a month ago. The plan is for us to fly from Mexico to the US on a separate ticket a few days into the trip.

Should the worst happen (read: COVID positive test while in Mexico), the easiest thing for us to do would be to abandon the trip to the US and spend more time in Mexico. Should that happen, would we be able to change our booking to return from MEX? The fare rule says AFTER DEPARTURE CHARGE GBP 300.00 FOR REISSUE/REVALIDATION, but I'm not sure if a change of country would be allowed.
