New York - Times Square

Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes

Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Deluxe room with Amb weekend voucher. Given Sky King Corner with a rollaway for our third.

How are the rooms?
Great views and the room seemed to have been refreshed in that there were no visible flaws. They are refreshing most of the suites right now which is why I couldn't get a suite upgrade. The hotel was totally sold out with the reduced inventory.

How is the exec. lounge?
None.

Breakfast is in the restaurant that is not managed by IHG. I think they should cancel the contract if possible as it is rather poorly managed. I have to admit that it was somewhat better than my last stay, except the espresso machine was broken. They said it is broken often. On the plus side with the extras we ordered it was over $100 each day and I had no extra charges on my bill.

Did you receive a welcome gift?
Instructed to take water from the minibar that doesn't count against the $50. I think most all NYC hotels are under the impression that COVID is transmitted by touch so they do not place water in the rooms anymore. But they did deliver a fruit plate. Who knows why?

How was the minibar?
It's not great, but good enough. I am sure I went over $50 each day, but had no charges at check out.

-Good-
For New York tourism it is close to Times Square and all the Broadway theaters. New York is packed with tourists right now. The sidewalks around the hotel were very busy.

The Ambassador desk was staffed throughout the weekend and the lady working there was excellent. Zero problems with my stay or bill.

-Bad-
Despite the handy location for tourists, it is rampant with drug dealers and you must accompany your kids of all ages at all times around that area. The police are very present, but do not seem interested in controlling anything unless it gets violent.

Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
All NYC hotels are very expensive at this time. The free night helped.

Would you return?
Probably
