But codeshare and alliance are two very different things. The biggest effort by STAR to get an airline co-ordinated was BD and they code-shared with everyone (in the industry they were known as the code-share whores). It eventually took LH and SAS to flex their ownership placement to get them to come around and act like a true member of an alliance.
