LH and AC have always been the driving forces behind STAR. UA has always been the b!tch sister of the bunch. There are still many UAL employees that do not know that STAR exists and many, many more that do not understand the significance of the alliance to their company. UAL has dragged their feet in doing anything pro-active within the group.

LH has always understood the need for common platforms, common systems, common policies and close co-operation. UAl has not. AC and LH really started the alliance talks and UA was dragged in, to give the necessary American presence. UA was never a force in getting anything done within the alliance. With UA, the alliance was always an after thought.
