No - reverse in this case! Didn't even visit the St Regis as I didn't find it appealing in any way. I wasn't a huge fan of the Four Seasons design either but the location is quite nice, beaten only by The Datai. With that said, it grows on you and the rooms are actually quite nice and warm. They just need a touch up for refurbishment. It's more the stuff around the resort that is a bit jarring design wise, in addition to the pool villas being really awkward (they need a proper pool not whatever it is they have).
I went to the Ritz-Carlton - the design is very nice (if a bit too 'could be anywhere'), but the location and overall ambiance is all wrong for me unfortunately.
