But apparently in this case instead of saving money you're actually paying more for the dubious privilege of having a worse car selection and a location with earlier closing times.
LAX Hertz:
1 Week at $187.68
Airport Concession Recovery: $21.53
Vehicle License Recovery: $6.12
Customer Facility Charge: $45.00
State Tourism Assessment: $6.57
Taxes: $20.46
Total: $287.36
LAX Marriott:
1 Week at $177.19
Hotel and Airport Concession Fee Recovery: $64.71 (so much for off-airport being cheaper)
Vehicle License Recovery: $6.12
Customer Facility Charge: $45.00
State Tourism Assessment: $6.20
Taxes: $23.56
Total: $322.78
LAX Hilton HLE:
1 Week at $171.93
Hotel and Airport Concession Fee Recovery: $41.79
Vehicle License Recovery: $6.12
Customer Facility Charge: $45.00
State Tourism Assessment: $6.02
Taxes: $20.88
Total: $291.74
Thank you for sharing. This “trick” can no longer be used, they’re either sold out or prices sky rocketed again just like the main hub.
I’ve had more luck with cheap rentals at Avis LAX location.
