Yes it is safe. Now they have a new all party sort of a government. It was always safe for tourists. It was only targeted at the government. All the bigger hotels have their own generators. This is not the first time they had power cuts in CMB. One of the main reasons was the water shortage at the hydro plants due to lack of rain. Now it is going up again and also easing the power shortage and I do not think there is any more power cuts in CMB now.
