P.S - The LHR-LAX and LAX-HNL are operated by AA. Not sure if this will make any difference.
BUD-LHR-LAX and LAX-HNL all on 1 ticket? AA does not interline bags on separate tickets.
As LAX will be your port on entry to USA you will need to process immigration and clear customs *with* all your hand and checked bags.
Is a bag drop after exiting border control. A post a week or so ago suggested may be as quick to go the normal check in/ security (due to congestion issues).
