I arrived HNL last night and the pre booked Charley’s Taxi was a complete bust. I followed the directions - texted the baggage claim number, was advised to find Pre Arranged 3 across from pillar 30, texted READY, and waited and waited and eventually found another, non-Charley’s, to take us. It ended up costing $35++. From baggage claim to getting into the random taxi was 45 minutes.

I’ll write more later, but I booked Coastal View using an AmEx Aspire cert and 5th Night Free reward, had Tapa Tower options in the app OLCI, and at the front desk was moved to 9th floor of Rainbow Tower overlooking the Great Lawn and the Lagoon. After settling in last night, I noticed the sink never drained after my hand washing, so texted to report the problem this morning, waited for maintenance so we could brush teeth and head out for the day. It took a little more than plunging. He had to disassemble the pipe and use a snake.


We saw quite a few rainbows this morning.
