Several years ago Amex Travel didn't ask for all that information. That right there is enough for me not to use them. These people are contractors, and probably temporary contractors and I'm not going to voluntarily provide them with all that information especially since I'm not actually talking to a REAL Amex employee like years back. That's another reason I refuse to call Amex any longer as I'm not even sure who I'm talking to and what type of background check was done on them. When I had an issue several years ago is when I realized that they started hiring unknowledgeable people. It wasn't like that before. No matter who you talked to at AMEX they knew their job, but not anymore.....they have no clue.
