I totally agree. I used to stay at the Hilton LAX 2-3 times a month for years and the shuttle was really consistently crappy. Especially when they used to share it with the Embassy Suites on the corner just down the road. I've witnessed fighting to get on that bus! I haven't been there for a couple of years, but the closure of the EL was a blow. Mr Smiley was an asset to the EL. I would not recommend a runway view, the plane noise will keep you up all night. Rooms on the NE side of the hotel are the quietest.
