Flight from Kona to Seattle was canceled with a days notice. Wasn't offered any compensation and was automatically rebooked on American via Phoenix that would have got me in 12 hours later and split my family seating up (including my young children). Could have stayed another 2 nights in Kona to keep the family together, but needed to get back for work. Paid a material amount to upgrade my family to first to get me home together on Hawaiian and Alaska via Lihue (no seats together in coach). The flight had been canceled multiple days in a row and a lot of people were working to get home. On the plus side, was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to get a hold of an agent (less than 5 minute wait) versus cancellations I dealt with over Christmas.
