I think United should offer a retail gift card like its competitors do like American, Delta, Southwest, and Alaska. It'd be a great way to take advantage of retail outlet promos online/in store and maybe they'd even do a deal with a warehouse retailer like Costco or Sam's Club have with other carriers. Consumers love gift cards and tend to often forget about using them for long periods of time so United gets upfront cash to hold onto. And no Travelbank does not count nor does UnitedVacations.

I just bought a Southwest $100 e-giftcard from Target (Disco 5% now, but also have Redcard) since I want to use it for some inter-island travel. Do not want to take Hawaiian and their cheapest fares offer zero United miles.

Anyone think United should do it or every hear if they have thought about it or plan to do it? It is not like the know how isn't out there already....
