Actually the booking was made through the Marriott app, and the booking confirmation email was äsent from Marriott.

In the case you mention I kind of would‘ve expected Customer Care to refer to a 'non-eligible booking' rather than a 'non participating Marriott property', which is clearly wrong.

Forwarded everything to the Bonvoy Champion email, will gladly post the resolution once it‘s resolved.
