I agree with this. I was on a flight when this announcement came out. Upon landing the f/as knew, and apparently some passengers. Two of the passengers the row behind me, along with the f/as, started making all sorts of political statements. It made the end of the flight quite uncomfortable - particularly since the f/as decided that this was the opportunity to make their political leanings known. Rather than changing the policy when a large number of flights were in the air, it would have been more reasonable to say "starting at midnight" or something like that.
