My experience with an accidental “upgrade” on BER - FRA
I recently flew BER-FRA in J on LH and the FA noticed a rather odd situation in last row of business behind me— there were three passengers sitting in Row 8. The FA asked to see the boarding passes for two of the passengers, noting that there could be no passengers in the middle seat.
The passengers were in the seats on their boarding passes. The FA asked what class they booked. The passengers said they did not know. The FA then proceeded to lambast them— apparently it was their fault this was not stated on the boarding pass.
After about 10 minutes, the passengers were moved to economy. It seems as though the curtain had been moved back but the passengers were not moved with it. They were rightfully unhappy about losing their seat assignments. The entire time, the FA used an accusatory tone and treated the wrongly seated passengers as if they were at fault.
Is this type of incident common on LH? The passengers in question should not have tried to play stupid when asked what class they booked, but I feel like this was an awkward situation to place them in. LH definitely did not handle this professionally.
