Yeah, I paid $2000 for QR J to India and flew it over the New Year, thanks to low low prices and promos, and got what I value as about $1000 in AS miles back. Suffice it to say those prices aren’t there any more.

OP should keep in mind that now that QR is using Avios that there’s a whole lot of BA mileage holders who can suck out QR award inventory before an AS MP holder will ever see it at T-330. Nearly an entire month early. And for someone who does a BA->QR transfer, they’ll get a better price for the USA-DOH segment (70k vs. 85k). Oh, and there is a transfer bonus on for AMEX->BA, which in effect is AMEX->QR.
