Just to update you on what happened, I called BA today. According to the agent the PNR number I had been given was a blank booking, with nothing on. So that was cancelled and had to go through the whole booking process again, the WTP availability reappeared, presumably because my other booking had been cancelled! Now everything is all ok, thankfully.
