You also need a COVID test to get back to the US, within 24 hours of departure. So you’ll have to do it in Singapore
If staying airside .... PP typically only require a "same-day" BP so I would think the one you have on arrival should work. (Though maybe not with the date change on arrival?)
Provided one stayed "somewhere" airside and had a good WIFI connection, they could use one of the home tests which are approved for US return to meet the requirement then upload the result to TRC. I would think the transfer desk or worst case, the gate can sort out the BP if one is already airside.
The checked bag potentially screws things up. If one really can grab it and still stay airside, I suppose it could be checked at the gate for the return flight, but I've never heard of one being able to a bag without going landside. Seems like a security loophole
