As the title says, I'm unable to select seats online for only the Air France segments for a 006 ticket purchased on delta.com. I searched for this topic and didn't find anything, so posting in the hopes flyertalkers have a solution.

I purchased a ticket MSP-CDG-DEL-CDG-MSP on delta.com. MSP-CDG on Delta metal; CDG-DEL on AF. (comfort select / premium economy, if that matters). I can select seats on the Delta segments but not on the AF legs. Tweeted to [MENTION=12946]Delta[/MENTION], was transferred to a texting service and the agent asked me to call Air France directly and couldn't assign seats. I also tried on Air France's website and I can select seats, but AF wants me to pay for seat selection! FYI, I have no status on DL or Skyteam. Is that what's going on? Should I hope that there's a window seat available for me at checkin? Can I get seats assigned prior to checkin?

Would greatly appreciate any helpful pointers.
