I was given the either or situation and took the discount code only for canceled SJC-KOA flight. I felt fairly compensated for the debacle and the cash/discount code seemed like the better deal to me. I am still due a cash compensation for the fare difference and that is currently pending as it needed to be calculated. I didn't ask but I assume that will just back into my wallet.
