I think like with most things with AA it depends on who you get on the phone. Wife tried changing hers (she’s PlatPro) and the rep said she’d go back on the list and have to wait and see if it cleared. Had her tell them not to change anything, so I could call EXP. That rep changed the flight and kept her upgrade, no questions asked
