Recently booked a trip from GLA - LHR - EWR in F, then returning 11 days later, BOS - LHR - GLA in CW. Cost around £1700 and 130,000 Avios and used the 2-4-1 voucher. Trip is July this year.

This will be my second “big” trip. The last one was F to Chicago which was amazing.

I am thinking of changing the trip to 8 days and flying back from NY rather than splitting the trip and flying back from Boston. Not sure if I’ll like it after visiting NY. Anyone done this trip that could offer some advice? Would a sole trip for 8 days in NY be too much? Most people seem to go for 3-5 days.

Also looking for some recommendations for NY hotels. I’ve never been before. Looking at Hotels.com there is a good deal on the Artezen, The Duffy Times Square and The Time Square Edition (which is 5 star) and is probably what I’m leaning towards.

BA have a good deal on the Arlo Midtown.

When I booked the flight on the phone (because it was open jaw) the advisor mentioned I could have booked a hotel at the same time and received 15 Avios per £1 spent. Can I still get this by phoning up and adding it to my booking even though I used the 2-4-1 Amex voucher?
