I just arrived at BOS for a flight this morning and found that AA and the TSA have temporarily opened two new security lanes for access to the main gates. The lanes are accessible through a narrow door between the main security area and the siberia gates. As many already are aware, AA and the TSA are in the process of constructing a new security area in this area (I am told it will be 6 or 7 lanes and will be open in late December). In any event, since there was no line for these lanes, I didn't even bother walking down to the elite line and breezed right through. (After I cleared security and walk down by the main security area, I discovered there was no line there either; obviously business travel is down this week and the holiday travel is not in full swing yet.) I am guessing that these new lanes will remain open at least through the end of the holiday weekend, and that they will open them on an as-needed basis after that.
