100%. I'm _almost_ done working my way through the amount I bought in the 20% off sale in 2020, plus had a number of experiences prior to that; things seem to be improving overall, but slowly, and still nowhere a routine transaction nearly any time I try to use one.

You may find it helpful to carry around a copy of the instructions in the wiki on this thread: Marriott Bonvoy Gift Card Use Discussion Thread

-- per that wiki it's the same process for both physical and electronic gift cards.

I paste together a doc with those instructions on one side and a screenshot of the eGC email showing the number and PIN on the other and give that to the front desk when using.
