If you have to change that flight does the SWU get applied or is it lost?

Not sure if you knew this but the expiration date is when the SWU needs to have cleared by. So finding Award C space for a long haul in the fall or winter and applied+confirmed upon booking would have been a great use for them. I just did this with LAX-LHR for a November flight.
