You can set up a KF account to check award availability first (you don't need to have any points to search for awards). And once you find awards for the dates that you wish to travel, call SQ (a challenge getting through to phone lines these days, but not impossible) and make a provisional booking to "secure" the seats first. Explain that you'd be transferring points before the ticket issuance date. You'd be charged a phone booking fee per itinerary, but that's a small price to pay. Once the KF miles are in, then call again to issue the ticket.

This way you don't end up converting your points to KF miles, then suddenly are faced with no redemption flight availability.
