Very likely the truth. Flights in and out of Florida (my home base) are an absolute, expensive nightmare right now. I'm told a lot of it is unused flight credits that vacation travelers are trying to use up before they expire, and they will continue to be a nightmare though the summer when all those "covid" credits finally expire.
