Booked two round trip Saver tickets with Alaska Air without seat selection (first time flying with them). Initially, no seats were assigned, and then I got a notification that both tickets had been assigned adjacent seats. Checked on my reservation again today and it seems the seats for the return flight were changed to be separate from one another. Any idea if they'll place the seats together if I give a call (wait time was 3 hours when I called a few moments ago so haven't been able to ask yet) or check in at the counter? Mostly just trying to sit next to my travel partner to try and reduce any COVID related risk, etc. Thanks!
Wouldn't waste your time (or their's) calling and holding. Just ask at the gate, you may get a friendly agent willing to accommodate you, but prepared to accept your current seats apart from one another, as limited seating is one of the limitations of saver fares as a trade-off for the lower price. The
site even indicates they "can’t guarantee that parties of two or more will be seated together".
