Have the pleasure of my 1st BT to UAE (AUH) next month, but as it is less than 8hrs in the air I will be consigned to the back of the plane ☹

To use BA/OW for TP & Avios I believe I have 2 options as still no BA direct flight…

1. BA LHR/DXB (a 777 but no idea if typically a densified version) then overland (not an issue per se as a colleague will already be in country), or
2. BA/QR via DOH (an A380 followed by an A320 for the 1hr connection to AUH)

From a comfort perspective I assume 2) is the better option??

• It certainly works better in terms of timing (can travel within Sunday, arriving circa 9pm)

Obviously 2) also works in terms of a few extra TPs, but in terms of Avios, when I look at the BA Calculator, seems I'd get a better return if I get our TA to book me as BA, not QR, is that right?



Would appreciate the thoughts of those experienced on the route?
