Some popular travel times are not always obvious. President's Day is a minor holiday, but many people take vacations around it and fares are generally higher if you are trying book trips covering the weekend (and a few days before and after).
It's worth knowing when states accounting for a lot of volume through a given hub typically have school breaks, as a lot of calendar-inflexible pax imply higher fares.
For example, Massachusetts schools do the week of Presidents' Day and the week of the third Monday in April off, so those are not weekends to fly from/to BOS (not least if you're not fond of sharing an economy cabin with lots of kids).
