I once heard that using Avios banked at IB+ to redeem BA Biz class tickets could dramatically reduce taxes and fees. Is this no longer the case?
I am trying to redeem a Biz ticket from the US to continental Europe on BA via LHR. Needless to say, the Avios requirements and taxes/fees are high if I use BA Avios. However, when I tried to check the mileage requirements for IB+, the # of miles is lower, but the taxes and fees amount to >$800.
