Fair warning, this may be a long rant about my recent experience with Qatar airways, but just want to put it out there.

I had paid for seats with extra legroom space from Mumbai - Dallas - Mumbai with Qatar for my parents. When I was checking in for their outbound flight (QR 730 & QR 556) back to Mumbai, their portal sometimes says "your flight is unavailable for check in", but I finally got through it and realized the seat map has changed, the seats I selected had changed without my knowledge and EVERY seat is charged(what is the ticket fare for then?) even after having paid an additional Rs.40000 for good seats. I tried to call them, their US number almost always puts you on hold for 15 minutes and drops the call. Called this other number and got them to hold seats for, they say "I've emailed them, you'll get those seats when you check in at the airport". Did this whole process twice because seats numbers kept getting changed on the app everytime I checked. Went to the DFW airport and these ill mannered agents named "Diana" & "Saad" there tell us things like "you haven't paid for these seats" even after showing them the confirmation email with the seat numbers, and things like "talk to the customer service it's not my problem" called the customer service they say "it's not my problem, call them".

And excuses like "passengers above 65 years of age cannot be on exit rows", they did get seats on an exit rows in their previous flight. AND not all extra legroom seats are "exit rows".

Eventually they had to travel uncomfortably despite having paid so much for good seats.

In a world where customer service is so vital for survival of a company, Qatar airways is carelessly shrugging off responsibility/accountability by blaming each other at a time when the customer is in distress (I've seen this happen to quite a few people while travelling) because of some of your lazy/morally corrupt employees and policies.
