For clarity (for anyone who doesn't know the specifics): There are no extensions. If you ask for one, that is what you'll be told. However, after your funds have expired, you'll have 6 months in which to request reissue as a voucher, minus the current fee of $100, which is deducted from the funds' balance. Unlike travel funds, which are only usable by the original passenger(s), vouchers can be used by anyone, but only for the airfare portion, not any taxes/fees.* The voucher will expire 6 months from the date of issue. Consider combining smaller funds prior to expiration if below the $100 threshold.

*There's a work-round for this, just use the voucher to purchase a flight and then cancel it, and you'll have new travel funds that can be used for the full booking, airfare plus taxes/fees. But be careful, as the new funds will only be usable by the named passenger.
