Assuming DOH is a transit on your original itinerary, you can't cancel CMB-DOH and cancel DOH-JFK. This is in violation of Married Segment Control (MSC). Yes, you talk to CX.

By all means, you can try. If an agent somehow can circumvent it, it would be an issue between CX and QR, not you, but I think your chance of success if very slim.
