I can't answer your question, but one of the best UA App offerings is the ability to track your bags, so that should show when they're on a flight to LAS.
App should allow passengers to enter destination address/hotel they are staying at for delivery, if luggage delayed. I can see an overwhelmed baggage office at LAS if a planeful of passengers arrive w/o bags.
