I previously used a FNA 50K for a night at The Douglas in Vancouver. I decided to change the date so cancelled it and attempted to re-book it for another night. I did not use the above method of transferring it to points and then cancelling as I was unaware and never had issues re-using a FNA before. I could not apply the FNA to another night even though the posted rate was 46K. I ended up calling in and an agent finally attached it and gave me a confirmation email. I noticed when looking at the trip, it still shows "points advanced" and told her that I don't think it's attached. She confirmed it would be updated within 24 hours. Few days later I still see it's a points advanced reservation and the rate has now gone up to 59K (the whole reason I pushed for it to be correctly attached). Called again and the agent said she had a call with IT and it's all correct in the back and even said the hotel also sees the certificate attached. Yet on my end it is still showing "point advanced".
Anyone go through something similar? Can I trust Marriott to not F this up lol? The problem is this is the first night of a 3 night stay so if I go there and it's not working I'll be super pissed.
Same thing happened to me for a stay in May. I've heard other similar stories around here as well, so I'm not that worried.
