I called Hilton about using the certificate and then paying the up charge, but they said that’s not an option. I ended up booking our 7 night stay for $5,800 and a few days later the cost went up to $8,500. Guess I should just be grateful that I booked when I did. I’ll just use the certificate another time, though I won’t get the same value as having used it at the Trafalgar.
