It sounds like a lot of stress and potentially wasted time to get rebooked, so I'm just going to clench my teeth, cancel my flight, and lose my 72k miles.

It would be worth the hassle, if there was a chance my miles could be redeposited, but not worth it just to push back my flight a few months. I'm probably not going to travel internationally, even in 2023, so a rebooking would likely be useless. Shame that I can't even trade this flight for merchandise. It's going to be a total loss.
